Over the last 10 years, the Market House restaurant on the Diamond, Donegal Town, has built up an enviable reputation for quality food at affordable prices. Fronting onto the Diamond’s iconic monument, the interior is spacious and traditional with a clever twist of modern décor. The Market House name originated from the old historical Market Hall which was located in the current building.

While the Market House restaurant is part of the Abbey Hotel, management has successfully created a stand-alone eatery on par with anything around. We changed the name, appointed a manager and hired a top quality chef. Our staff are highly trained and all live locally.
The Early Bird option available from 5.00 pm to 9.00 pm is ideal for anyone on a budget or who simply likes to eat early. “Our chef has created an excellent three course menu for only €24.95 or two course for €20.00” Ann Boyle, manager of the restaurant said. “The local trade is very important to us. We support local businesses and our fresh produce is sourced locally”.
The presentation and choice of food for the Sunday Carvery is very impressive tree course meal for only €22.00, you can eat as much as you want and it’s available from 12 noon to 4.00 pm.
